Marli Ollerton graduated with a Bachelor of Health Science, majoring in Nutritional and Dietetic Medicine from Endeavour College of Natural Health. She is a qualified and registered clinical nutritionist with the Australian Natural Therapists Association.
Marli sees gastrointestinal health as a big player in health and believes ailments in our gut can often lead to multiple poor health outcomes both physically and psychologically. Gut testing is an important part of Marli’s practice. She works with patients to create a healthy gut / microbiome – an extremely important aspect to both short and long term health.
Marli works closely with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) patients helping them deal with patterns of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. Understanding these conditions is crucial for parents and caregivers seeking effective strategies to support their children. Marli find using a holistic approach particularly beneficial for children with ADHD, as it addresses their unique needs and promotes a more balanced, fulfilling life.
Additional special interests include Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS) – formerly PCOS; and binge eating disorder. Her curiosity in this area sparked after her own diagnosis of PCOS and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) as a teenager.
Marli also helps patients maintain adequate energy, assist with weight management, and improve long term health outcomes with continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) and education around the impacts of glucose and insulin.
Marli enjoys designing custom meal plans, nutritional compounds and mixing custom blends of vitamins, minerals and amino acids to support her patients reach their health goals.
Marli offers her patients food compatibility testing to help identify foods which may cause inflammation and discomfort. Commonly reported symptoms include digestive discomfort, bloating, fatigue, brain fog, behaviour changes, sinus issues, headaches, sleep disturbances, body aches, rashes, itchy skin and general inflammation-related symptoms.
Marli can also test vitamin, mineral and heavy metal levels to determine whether a patient is absorbing key vitamin and mineral levels from their food, or if are they deficient – being blocked by heavy metals.
