GP & Integrative Doctor

Dr Abdul Jat

MBBS, DCPS-HPE, Dip Paeds, AMC cert, FRACGP

Dr Jat graduated in Medicine in 1994 and has since completed specialist postgraduate qualifications across multiple areas of clinical practice, including Family Medicine, Paediatrics, Nutrition, and Integrative Medicine. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and a member of both the Australasian College of Nutrition & Environmental Medicine (ACNEM) and the Australasian Society for Psychological Medicine (ASPM).

During his advanced training at the Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine (RLHIM) in the United Kingdom, Dr Jat had the unique opportunity to work alongside the Queen’s personal physician, Dr Peter Fisher. This experience provided him with invaluable insight into the practice of truly integrated and holistic medicine. He was also privileged to be mentored by Dr Brian Kaplan and Professor John English during his time at RLHIM.

Dr Jat has a strong interest in holistic and integrative medicine, with a particular focus on improving health literacy as a cornerstone for managing chronic and complex conditions. He is deeply committed to supporting children and families, with extensive experience in caring for neurodevelopmental and behavioural concerns such as ADHD and autism, food-related sensitivities, and psychological wellbeing. In addition, he has a strong interest in men’s health, including the assessment and management of subfertility, and takes a comprehensive, individualised approach to care.

Dr Jat’s first preference is always evidence-based, orthodox medical treatment. However, he acknowledges that in cases where conventional medicine alone may not offer optimal outcomes, a carefully considered integration of complementary and holistic therapies can play a valuable role.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr Jat is actively involved in medical education. He has taught for professional colleges and organisations, including the RACGP, and has contributed to training in holistic and integrated medicine as well as examination preparation, training, and coaching for local and international medical graduates, both nationally and internationally.
